Dr Amit Gupta
Dr. Amit Gupta is a highly experienced hand and upper extremity surgeon based in Louisville, Kentucky, specializing in orthopedic hand, wrist, and elbow surgery, including pediatric cases. He is affiliated with Norton Healthcare and the Norton Arm And Hand Institute - Brownsboro, with over 50 years of experience.
Amit Gupta, M.D. earned his medical degree from University of Delhi, India. He completed a residency in orthopedics from the Robert Jones & Agnes Hunt Orthopedic Hospital in Oswestry and Royal Liverpool hospitals in England.
He then completed hand and microsurgery fellowships with the Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Micro Surgery in Louisville and with the Pulvertaft Hand Centre, Derby, England, and University of Bern, Switzerland.
In addition to offering a full range of arm and hand services, Dr. Gupta has special interests in wrist and elbow surgery, post-trauma reconstruction of the hand and pediatric hand surgery.
Dr. Gupta’s mission is to provide top-quality, patient-centered care in the areas of hand surgery and complex elbow reconstruction.
He is involved in research focused on developing cutting-edge technologies, including improved wrist implants and rehabilitation equipment for patients. Dr Amit Gupta has published 2 exceptional books - The Growing Hand, The Grasping Hand, which are both must reads for the hand surgeon.
Away from the office Dr. Gupta enjoys going to plays and listening to music, particularly Indian percussion instruments, as well as doing research and writing. He also likes to travel and experience other cultures.
Dr. Gupta has been voted by his peers as one of Louisville Magazine’s Top Docs for 2019.
Professor Bo Liu
Professor Bo Liu is an Orthopaedic Hand Surgeon with over two decades of expertise in hand, wrist, and peripheral nerve surgery. He currently serves as Chief of Hand Surgery Department at Beijing Ji Shui Tan Hospital, China National Orthopaedic Center. He holds the positions of Professor at both Peking University and Capital Medical University in Beijing, China.
Professor LIU is serving as the President (2026-2027) of International Wrist Arthroscopy Society (IWAS) and the Chairman of the Education Committee (2019-2023), Asia Pacific Wrist Association (APWA).
Professor Liu is also an innovator in wrist arthroscopic surgery and robotic assisted hand & wrist surgery, having developed surgical techniques that have advanced the field of hand and wrist surgery. He founded the Beijing International Wrist Arthroscopy Course in the early 2000s and has served as its Course Director ever since.
Professor Bo Liu is a world leader in arthroscopic and robotic surgery of the wrist.
